Extra Knowledge:
Theft following preparation to cause death, hurt or restraint.
Sometimes, the theft is not a spontaneous offence that happens in the heat of the moment. At times, an offender may prepare to kill, hurt, or restrain the victim to commit theft.
For example, in case the victim resists, he may have a gun in his pocket to shoot the victim while committing theft. He may also place his accomplice nearby to restrain the victim so that he can escape from there easily and quickly.
To prevent such occurrences of theft, the punishment is severer and extends to 10 years imprisonment with fine.
